Specialising in Project & Programme Management, Ian is noted for a practical and pragmatic approach to delivering complex projects.

With a wide-ranging skillset attained from an extensive breadth of interesting projects and experience (particularly with mobile-based solutions, such as Outside Broadcast and Command & Control vehicles, specialist covert platforms, marine applications, etc…), Ian has been involved in a wide range of projects at all levels and disciplines; from Engineering simple 3-camera continuity studios, to Project-Managing multi-channel playout systems and Programme-Managing multiple large-scale simultaneous projects.

A key individual in the Outside Broadcast team of the Professional Solutions division of Sony Europe, Ian has overseen the build of over 30 trucks in his tenure, culminating in a key role for the biggest-ever OB contract ever undertaken by the group; managing a €27M programme to deliver 6 multiple flagship OB vehicles under extreme financial, time & resourcing constraints.

Ian has also been involved in a number of Security and Defence projects, fusing an in-depth knowledge of critical ‘always-on’ Broadcast Systems design with the contemporary requirements of the modern S&D arena. Knowledge and discretion learnt during these confidential projects has in turn led Ian into a number of new and diverse high-end undertakings, including technical consultancy for sophisticated pixel-based LED lighting and cutting-edge UHD HDR IP broadcast production systems for VIP clients.

More recently, Ian has worked with a major media SaaS provider assisting their internal business transformation projects. Based firmly in the AGILE methodology, the role included managing a number of client software projects.

At his heart, Ian’s history and experience in the high-end professional AVIT world over a 20+ year career, has provided him the exciting opportunity to sit on a new innovation team looking at the next generation of audio capture devices, backed by specialist AI.

Ian’s excitement and hunger for new-technology has helped generate a venerable list of interesting projects and opportunities over the years…
